What Makes Quest your BEST CHOICE in Martial Art Schools? Here are just a few reasons...
What styles of martial arts do you teach?
At Quest, we teach the art of Tae Kwon-Do. Generally speaking our karate
involves punching, blocking, striking and amazing kicking techniques that
anyone can learn and do. Along with the most comprehensive self defense
curriculum.
What separates Quest Academy's programs from all other schools is our
leadership and life skills curriculum. Simply put martial arts without
the mental aspect of training is just street fighting. Although we teach
that you should ALWAYS avoid a fight if at all possible, you or your child
will definitely be prepared mentally and physically to defend yourself
should the need ever arise.
We emphasize practical self defense as opposed to sport karate.
How do I go from one belt to the next?
Each belt rank has specific technique and class hour requirements. You will
always know exactly what you need to do to advance. Also, each time you
get promoted, you will receive a video which will include all of your
rank requirements for the next belt, so you can practice and perfect your
technique at home.
How long will it take me to get a black belt?
At Quest, black belts are neither handed out casually after a year or two,
nor are they looked upon as a nearly unattainable goal a decade down the
road. Three to four years is a realistic goal.
How long have you been doing this?
Master Zaleski began training in 1974 with the renowned Korean Master CK CHOI.
Our first school began in 1977 in Vancouver. In 1995 to 1998 three schools
were opened in the Kootenays. In 2000 Master Zaleski moved to Kelowna
and has personally purchased the building at 2280 Leckie Road to ensure
the Academy's long term growth & success. We are a family owned and
operated academy.
What makes Quest your best choice in martial arts schools?
Superior Instruction for you and your child that will pay off in better
training for you and your family. Many instructors and studio
owners are "part timers". At Quest, Dan Zaleski is a full time
professional, not a part time hobbyist. We reinvest thousands of dollars
every year in professional and educational materials. We attend (and present)
frequent seminars from coast to coast and overseas, to bring you and your
family the finest methods to help you and your family be the best you
can be.
Quality and quantity of training equipment - When you come to the studio,
look around and count the number of bags, focus targets, kicking shields,
etc. The quantity of equipment guarantees that you will get plenty of opportunityto practice your techniques without having to stand around waiting for your turn.
The many different types of equipment insure that you will have plenty of varietyin your training sessions to keep you excited about classes. Also, unlike most studios,
we maintain fully padded floors for your safety. Compare all this with most studios which offer far less.
How big are your classes?
Our classes fluctuate in size, depending on the time of year, belt level,
etc. However, we maintain a maximum 10 to 1 Student to Instructor
Ratio to be sure that each of our students gets the attention
needed.
When are your classes?
As a full time professional school, we are able to offer you more classes and
class times per week than our competitors. We offer classes six days per
week, and we have an extremely flexible schedule is which is sure to meet
your needs.
How young do you start?
We offer a Little Dragons program for 5-10 years old focusing
on developing large motor skills, Balance, Stranger Danger, ability to follow directions, Concentration, etc.
How much do you charge?
Although it is not our goal to be the cheapest school in the area, our prices are
competitive with other local studios that offer far less in the way of
benefits, scheduling, curriculum, etc. And, we also offer you a 100%
Satisfaction Guarantee! We're so sure you'll see for yourself
how Quest Martial Arts Academy develops: superior
concentration for good grades (at school), or performance (on
the job); courage and patienceto handle life's daily
challenges on the playground or on the job; inner strength
to do what is right and say "NO" to peer pressure; confidence
and self esteem to walk proud and not be a victim;
respect for self and others; if you don't see progress within
30 days, we will give you a full refund!
How many classes per week should I attend?
For consistent progress, we suggest that you attend two classes per week, and review
what you have learned at home.
Will there be other beginners in my class?
At Quest, classes are grouped by age and belt rank. This means that you will be
in a class with others of similar skill and age.
Will I have to do some kind of eastern religious stuff that goes against my faith?
Absolutely not! At Quest, we do not bow to altars, flags or pictures
of masters. We also practice no eastern meditation as a regular part of
our curriculum.
